Behavior assessment of some Triticale (Triticosecale wittmack) Genotypes under Mediterranean Semi-arid Conditions

چکیده

Background: In Mediterranean climate, drought and heat stress are the main constraints for cereal production under rainfed conditions. these conditions, selection of suitable genotypes is crucial to improve production. Methods: 20 advanced triticale lines were evaluated semi-arid conditions in Setif (Algeria) during 2019/2020 season using agronomic, morphological physiological traits. Result: The results obtained showed that with higher numbers tillers, spikes, grains per spike, leaf area index chlorophyll content produced more used water efficiently when faced post-anthesis phase. Also, high content, relative maintenance cell membrane stability delayed senescence extended grain filling stage. Relative was also related protein content. This work this set identified traits positively yield use efficiency region.

Effect of Nanoparticles and Biofertilizers on Chlorophyll Fluorescence Indices and Some Physiological Traits of Triticale (Triticosecale Wittmack) under Salinity Stress

In order to study the effects of nanoparticles and biofertilizers on chlorophyll fluorescence indices and some physiological traits of triticale (Triticosecale Wittmack) under salinity stress, a factorial experiment was conducted based on a randomized complete block design with three replications in the research greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Mohaghegh...

Chemical weed control in triticale (x Triticosecale Wittmack): review of five years of field experiments.

During five subsequent growing seasons field experiments were carried out at the experimental farm of the University College Ghent (Belgium) to evaluate the selectivity and efficacy of herbicides for chemical weed control in triticale (x Triticosecale Wittmack). The experiments were set up on a sandy loam soil, according to a completely randomised block design with four replications. Several he...

Impacts of different tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yield under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions

Effects of six tillage practices on some soil microbiological properties and crop yields were evaluated for a clay soil (Typic Haploxererts) under semi-arid Mediterranean conditions in a three year study (2006-2009). The experiment was designed as a completely randomized-block with three replications. Treatments were: conventional tillage with residue incorporated (CT1), conventional tillage wi...

Adult Plant Development in Triticale (× Triticosecale Wittmack) Is Controlled by Dynamic Genetic Patterns of Regulation

Many biologically and agronomically important traits are dynamic and show temporal variation. In this study, we used triticale (× Triticosecale Wittmack) as a model crop to assess the genetic dynamics underlying phenotypic plasticity of adult plant development. To this end, a large mapping population with 647 doubled haploid lines derived from four partially connected families from crosses amon...

Evaluation of crossability between triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack) and common wheat, durum wheat and rye.

Development of transgenic triticale as a platform for novel bio-industrial products is predicated on an environmental biosafety assessment that quantifies the potential risks associated with its release. Pollen-mediated gene flow to related species and conventional triticale varieties is one pathway for transgene movement. A tier 1 quantification of triticale hybridization was conducted by emas...
